- A brown paper bag
- brown paint
- plain card stock
- white, brown and red paper scraps
- twine or ribbon if you want to tie up the bag
- a black marker
- a willing child
First off get your willing child...if they aren't willing bribery works well LOL (mine was willing) and cover their hands with the brown paint, poster paints are best for this as it might get messy and acrylics aren't really suitable for younger children. When the child's hands are covered with paint get them to place their hands onto the plain cardstock, make sure they press down hard so you get a full hand print.
While the paint is drying (and the child is cleaned up) you can start to cut out the circles for the eyes and nose then cut out some eye lids out of brown. On the white circles use the marker to colour in the pupils. These can then be stuck down onto the paper bag.
When the hand prints are dry cut around them and stick them onto the top of the bag for antlers.
The bag can be filled with any type of goodies and makes a perfect gift for teachers and grandparents.
Don't forget to check back next Sunday for another fun Christmas idea.
Until then Stay crafty
